Children are encouraged to develop an awareness of themselves in relation to their immediate surroundings of home, school and locality. The extensive grounds and surrounding environment are used as a stepping stone to further studies. As their understanding develops, this leads to an awareness of other parts of this country and then other places in the wider world. Many of the class trips support topics that are covered as part of the curriculum.
Key Stage 2 learnt all about London and it's landmarks. They went on a trip around London visiting these places first hand on an open top bus.
As homework KS2 made famous London landmarks.
Can you recognise any?
During their topic of Farming Safari, KS1 acted out going on a real safari to Africa to spot African animals. It was great fun and very safe. They just needed to look out of the window.
