Hello and welcome to our Year 3 class page
Our Autumn Term learning topic is:
Larch Class Gallery
In History, we have been learning about the Tudor royal family, including Henry VIII and his six wives.
"Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived."
In Art, we investigated Tudor portraits and the work of artist Hans Holbein. We used sketching techniques and oil pastels to recreate the portraits.
In English, we also wrote descriptive sentences about our portraits using the past and present tenses.
We have been outside exploring the school garden and pond area. We found some interesting plants and pond creatures.
In Science, our topic is Animals Including Humans. We have been learning about nutrition and different skeletal systems, including the scientific names for major human bones.
This is our class display for Reading Stars, our new whole school reading challenge to promote reading for pleasure. Can Larch Class earn enough stars by reading at home at least 4 times per week to win themselves a treat?
We made and painted these amazing clay models of the Tudor rose.
