This grant is made by the government to support the learning needs of children in low-income groups to help them to attain comparable levels of performance with their peers.

Schools are free to spend the grant as they see fit but are accountable for the results. The total grant for this year is £16,820 and we are spending the money on:
Nature of Support

Booster groups for language and communication skills and development.

Booster groups for phonics, reading, writing and mathematical development.

1:1 and 1:2 support for certain children.

Fine motor skill development groups.

Nurture group for certain children.

Extra TA support in or out of class to support groups and individual children.

Financial support where needed for trips, school visits, extra-curricular clubs, uniform and family support.

Purchase of learning resources.

Supporting children in their creative development in art and DT.
Measuring the impact of PPG funding

At the end of key stage one, children in this group had an overall achievement of Expected which is in line with the national average. At the end of the early years foundation stage, these children had an achievement level which was broadly in line with the national average. This indicates that these children made expected or better progress.

At the end of KS1 2019, Dovery Down had no Pupil Premium pupils in Y2.
