Chinese New Year

This week we have been celebrating Chinese New Year and we have been learning about traditions such as the lucky red envelopes, dragon dancing and different foods that represent happiness and long life.  We have also compared the different weather in China to Leighton Buzzard.

On Tuesday 24th January 2017, the Reception children celebrated Chinese New Year with the children from Heathwood Lower School.

Each class performed a dragon dance and enjoyed singing and using different musical instruments.

The children tasted different food ad Mrs Tsang, Nathaniel's mum, made a delicious pot of noodles to share.

At the end of the day we gave each other a small gift and said 'Kung Hei Fat Choi' - 'Happy Chinese New Year!'

The children thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and a whole school enrichment day will follow next week.
