Physical Education

PE at Dovery Down Lower school is an important part of the curriculum.  The children enjoy 2 hours of PE each week.  This includes specialised teaching and a variety of activities.

In KS1 the children develop their fundamental movement skills through multi-sports, gymnastics and dance.  These basic movement skills lead to sport specific PE in KS2, activities here include netball, hockey, football, athletics, gymnastics, dance, swimming, cycling and many more.

The children have lots of opportunities to develop an active lifestyle through play times and clubs as well as their curriculum PE.  There is a big variety of sports clubs for different age groups which vary throughout the year (see the clubs page for current information).

Dovery Down uses the sport and PE funding to support and enhance the experience of PE the children have.  This includes opportunities for competitions both in school and against other schools locally.
